Dream 16 - The white and the black Self

This was a very short but significant dream, which I had in December 1964. By this time I was painting out the dreams, which seemed of special significance to me.

The beginning of the dream was dominated by a white, airy, large Self. This I recognised as part of me. It was pursued by a very small but solid black Self, also part of me. Eventually the dream ended by the white Self lying in wait for the black Self and cutting it into three with scissors.

So here we have the duality of the white and the black, the insubstantial and the substantial, and the eventual disclosure that there are three aspects of the lower black Self.
