Dream 19 - The questions, the door and the white cushion

In the dream I was in a small group of people. They were asking questions. I kept saying that they were questions that should not be asked. They were inappropriate. The questions began by the group asking how to construct a door. As each question came a bit of the door appeared. Then at the last question the door suddenly became complete, the last question having resulted in the left hand side of the frame becoming complete.

The door was a double door and perfect. It was of an offwhite colour in a pale wall. The message was "This is the door to the Astral". The perfection of the door, blemish free, was striking. But there was no handle and so no way of opening it. But one could simply go through it.

At this stage I awoke. I tried to get back to the dream and succeeded but it was different and yet the same message. The door had become a pearl white cushion or pillow. The last question completed it by sealing the end. Now it was full and bulging. A perfect pearl white pillow. To what does it relate?

The more obvious message is that transformation is not so much based on asking questions, but rather of putting a procedure into practice and patiently waiting for the knowledge to be given when the pupil is ready. As it is said, "When the pupil is ready, the teacher appears". The completion of the door is the completion of the knowledge of the way of transformation and the white cushion of the completion of the first stage, when the outer mind is stilled.

A verse from Omar Khayyam comes to mind:

"There was a Door to which I found no Key:
There was a Veil past which I could not see:
Some little Talk awhile of ME and THEE
There seem'd - and then no more of THEE and ME." 1
